Sony Japan today announced a new cybershot model, the DSC-M2. This stylish and ergonomically designed camera features 5.1 Megapixels Super HAD CCD sensor, a high quality movie mode (MPEG-4 recording), a bright 2.5” 1.2 Megapixels Hybrid LCD screen, Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar folded-path 3x optical zoom lens, a stereo microphone, and a built-in mono speaker.
Its movie shooting capabilities allow users to capture up to 50 minutes of good quality footage on a Memory Stick PRO Duo with one charge of the supplied InfoLITHIUM battery. In its unique Hybrid REC mode the movies are captured and stored as 15 fps at QVGA size (320×240).
