Sony HDD Photo Storage HDPS-M10

Together with the new Cybershot DSC-M2, Sony yesterday announced its new 40GB portable HDD photo storage, the black, cool looking HDPS-M10 will be available on market from November 11th onwards.

This product was quietly introduced back in February. It was planned to be released in June, apparently Sony changed their plan. The M10 achieved high transfers speed and long haul battery life, with up to 3MB per second data transfer rate via hi-speed USB2.0 interface, and up to 15 times data copying from a fully loaded 1GB memory stick. Sony claims its Li-Ion battery takes 4 hours to fully recharge. This unit also designed to be shock resistant to make it suitable for portable use.

This unit features a Type 2 CF slot and Memory Stick slot, making it support various types of expansion memory, including Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick PRO Duo, CF, and Microdrive.

The HDPS-M10 measures 135×30 x 92 mm in dimensions and weighs around 300 g. Estimated retail price for this unit is 30,000 Japanese Yen (approximately US$273).
