Sanyo (Japan) yesterday announced a new portable DVD player, the DVD-HP71T, which will hit the market on November 10th, with only 7000 units in the first month.
The DVD-HP71T portable DVD player features a 7” TFT-LCD (480×234) with the dimensions of 154 mm in width and 87 mm in height. The DVD player itself measures 200×26 x 150 mm in dimensions and weighs 750 g. It plays DVD, DVD-R, and DVD-RW (with supports of CPRM (Content Protection for Recordable Media)), as well as CD, CD-R, CD-RW for MP3 and JPEG files. The drawback is (which is probably inevitable with current battery technology), you can only play up to 3 hours of video with its fully charged battery which requires 5 hours of charging time.
