Finally, after months of waiting, the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet is officially available to the public! The Nokia 770 Internet Tablet weighs 230 g and measures 141×79 x 19 mm in dimensions. It is basically a Linux based Wi-Fi tablet computer, allowing users to browse the web conveniently, as well as to enjoy multimedia or to do some works on it.
The Nokia 770 comes with a 4.13” high-resolution (800×480) touch screen with up to 65,536 colors, 128MB Flash memory (over 64MB for user), a bundled 64MB RS-MMC, 802.11b/g WLAN connectivity, Bluetooth 1.2, USB, 3.5mm stereo audio out, Nokia’s BP-5L battery for up to 3 hours browsing time and 7 days standby time, as well as 2 stylus pens.
There are already several opensource softwares available for the Nokia 770, most of them, if not all, can be found at Maemo.org.
The retail price of the Nokia 770 is £245 in the UK, which is approximately US$428 (the NokiaUSA website is under maintenance while I’m writing this article, I’ll keep the price updated later).
