The Nokia N92 is more like a mobile TV than a mobile phone. In fact its most important feature is its capability to receive DVB-H signals from the stations and let users enjoy watching TV shows anywhere they like (as long as they are inside the DVB-H service coverage range).

I wouldn’t say the new Nokia N92 is small, it measures 107.4×58.2×24.8 mm in dimensions and weighs 191 g. The 2.8” anti-glare QVGA screen with 16 million colors and dedicated media keys help delivering better viewing experience and user control.
The N92 uses the standard DVB-H format, i.e. H.264/AVC (384kbps, 15fps, QVGA) for video and the 3GPP Rel.6 standard eAAC+ (48kbps) for audio. It has 90MB built-in memory, which makes longer video recording possible in 3GP format. You may also expand your Nokia N92’s memory to up to 2GB with RS-MMC or miniSD card.
To enrich its multimedia capability, the N92 also features a pair of stereo speakers at the back of the LCD display. They can be used for watching TV show on DVB-H, music playback in MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ and WMA formats, as well as listening to FM radio as the N92 is also equipped with a FM tuner.
The N92 is powered by a 1500mAh Li-Polymer battery, which has almost two times the capacity of a regular cellphone battery. The battery is said to be able to provide up to 4 hours of Mobile TV viewing, up to 4 hours of talk time, and up to 14 days of standby time.
The Nokia N92 provides a rich range of connectivity options such as Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), infrared, Bluetooth wireless technology as well as USB 2.0 (Mass Storage Class), which allows users to connect the Nokia N92 directly to a compatible PC for quick and convenient file transfers or downloads. As a mobile phone, it supports W-CDMA network in addition to 900/1800/1900MHz GSM and EDGE networks.
The Nokia N92, which is based on S60 3rd Edition and Symbian OS, is expected to hit the market in mid 2006 in Europe, Africa, and Asia where DVB-H services are available. The estimated retail price is 600 Euros (US$703).
DVB-H technology enables the TV service you are familiar with at home to be broadcast to your mobile device. DVB-H provides the best user experience in the mobile environment with excellent picture and reduced battery consumption. Up to 50 TV channels can be delivered with low cost, over one network. With extensive pilots of broadcast mobile TV currently taking place across the globe, involving leading broadcasters, mobile operators, broadcast network operators and handset manufacturers, the market for commercial broadcast services is expected to spread during 2006.
