Taiwanese MiTAC officially launched their first GPS Smartphone, the Mio A700 in Beijing, China, on November 22nd. The Mio A700 is powered by Windows Mobile 5.0 and Intel Bulverde PXA-270 520MHz processor, and its integrated GPS device with SirfStar III chipset supports the latest A-GPS (Assisted GPS).

The Mio A700 is a cool smartphone featuring a 2.7” TFT touchscreen with 262K colors, 192 MB of memory, a 1.3 megapixel camera and Bluetooth 1.2.

As MiTAC chose to launch the Mio A700 in China, the Mio A700 for the Chinese market is loaded with over 200 Chinese cities’ GPS maps. With the A700’s innovative SMS geographical location pinger, you can easily find out where your friend is by just sending an SMS message.

While the Mio A700 which comes in stylish black or white and is only for the Asian market, there is an European variant, the A701, with some minor different form factors.
