Korean manufacturer LG, in collaboration with KTF and Intel Korea, introduced the first laptop ever with integrated EVDO (Evolution Data Only) connectivity to the Korean market last month.
The LW20-EV allows KTF subscribers to enjoy the 2.4 Mbps EVDO connection directly on the laptop without the need to plug in external EVDO adapter. According to KTF, their EVDO service is very stable even when you are in the mountain, on a moving vehicle, or on the basement. In case you go out of the EVDO service coverage area, you could still get connected using the standard built-in 802.11b Wi-Fi.
The LW20-EV uses Intel’s Sonama platform. As it uses EVDO connectivity, a big question for this product will be “how long can its battery last?”
