WidowPC yesterday announced the world’s first dual-core laptop, the Sting 917X2. The Sting 917X2 is a gaming laptop, which runs on AMD 64 X2 Dual Core 4800+ or FX57 processor; and either nVidia 7800 GTX, ATI X850 XT Platinum Edition, or nVidia Quadro 1400 video card with 256MB DDR3 memory on buyer’s choice.
Other features include a 17” 1900×1200 WUXGA+ LCD display with ClearView SuperBrite Technology, 2GB Apacer 400 Mhz Dual Channel DDR RAM, Fujitsu SATA and Ultra ATA drives with commanding queuing, full size keyboard, fully user upgradeable video & CPU, and TV tuner with remote available.
With all these features (as well as the whopping price), it looks like Alienware has to come up with a new model to compete with WidowPC. The Sting 917X2 is available immediately for US$3,477 at WidowPC’s website.
