Other than the foldable Ultra II SD Plus card with USB connector, ScanDisk has also introduced their new Extreme III series CompactFlash cards. The ScanDisk Extreme III CF cards will be available in the capacity of 1GB, 2GB, 4GB and 8GB, with retail price of US$99.99 – $279.9 for 1 – 4GB and $559.99 for 8GB.
Other than CF cards, the Extreme III series also include Extreme III Memory Stick PRO Duo 1GB ($109.99), 2GB ($209.99), and 4GB ($419.99); and also Extreme III SD 1GB ($99.99) and 2GB ($199.99).
SanDisk Extreme III CompactFlash and SD cards have minimum write and read speeds of 20MB/s. Memory Stick PRO Duo cards have minimum write and read speeds of 18 MB/sec. They are targetted at the DSLR users’ market (no one else would need 8GB CF cards anyway). Been wanting to shoot photos in RAW? You can do it without worrying too much about the storage space soon as the Extreme III series will hit the market some time this month.
