Dopod recently announced their first clam shell smartphone, the Dopod S300. This smart-looking model was initially introduced as the Qtek 8500 in March’s CeBIT. The Dopod S300 uses a slim design, weighing 99 g and measuring 15.8 mm thick when the clam shell is closed, that’s pretty close to the thickness of many non-slim candy bars.
The S300 is powered by a TI OMAP 850 processor. It runs on Windows Mobile 5.0 for Smartphone and features a 2.2-inch QVGA 65K color TFT main display and a 128×128 pixels 65K color TFT sub display, a 1.3-megapixel CMOS camera, 40 polyphonic ringtone (they should offer 64 polyphonic instead), built-in 64 MB ROM and 64 MB RAM, Micro-SD memory expansion slot, Media Player 10 with WMA/Mp3 playback support, Push Mail, QR Code and QuickMark function, as well as USB, IrDA and Bluetooth 1.2 interfaces.
The Dopod S300 comes with a very cool keypad. Even though guys with bigger fingers might mispressed the wrong keys, I would give the keypad a 8 out of 10 for the simple yet stylish design.
If you take a closer look, you will also notice the the quick media playback buttons right below the sub display on the cover of the clam shell. The S300 uses a 750 mAh rechargable batter, providing up to 150 hours standby time and 5 hours talk time. It will hit the Taiwanese market in May at the retail price of NT$13,900 (US$429).

Despite of Windows-smartphone functionality it can rival with Motorola RAZR phones in thickness and some other features.
