Samsung Electronics this week announced their collaboration with XM, an American satellite radio service provider and the release of their first XM-enabled MP3 player, the Samsung neXus.

The neXus will come in two capacities: one that will store up to 50 hours of music (1GB), the other 25 hours (512MB). The neXus does not have a built-in XM tuner, but it will ship with a home docking accessory that has a built-in XM satellite receiver so that subscribers can listen to and record music and other audio content on the compact neXus device for mobile listening. This device measures 3.4” x 1.9” x 0.7” in dimensions. A seperately sold vehicle kit is also available.

Pricing information will be announced prior to launch in Q4 2005.
