Archos Gmini 402 Pocket Multimedia Center has been on the market for a while. It is actually an upgrade version of its predecessor, the Gmini 400, by replacing the CF card slot with USB Host Port. This ultra-light pocket size multimedia center measures only 10.6×6 x 1.7 mm (4.1×2.3×0.7”) in demensions and weighs only 160g (6.64 oz).

  • 20GB storage capacity (stores up to 80 hours videos, 200,000 pictures and 10,000 songs)
  • 2.2” 262K colors TFT-LCD with max resolution of 220×176 pixels
  • Support playback for MPEG-4, DivX, AVI, WMV (including protected WMV files), MP3, WAV and WMA (including protected WMA)
  • Music recording from analog source to WAV file
  • Up to 10 hours music playback or 4 hours video playback with built-in Li-Ion battery
  • USB Host Port for direct file sharing with other USB powered mass storage device such as digital camera, powered portable hard disk drive, USB memory sticks, and card reader.

      The original gmini400 already had a USB 2.0 port. I think it kinda sucks that they got rid of the CF port.

      On, another note, it looks like Archos is about to release the new AV 500.

    1. thanks for catching the mistake, it should be “USB Host Port” in that line.

      AV500 looks great, almost the same specs with AV700, yet smaller.
